Chapter 33 The Eternal Enemy of the Evil God
Chapter 33 The Eternal Enemy of the Evil God
He walked quickly to the shelf.
He grabbed a handful of purification spell scrolls and stuffed them into his pocket, then grabbed a few bottles of purification water. Without taking anything else, he turned and walked out.
To him, these human supplies were meaningless.
After leaving the warehouse, Lin Qi headed towards the second floor of the Temple of Justice.
The target is the room he used to live in, which faces the Adventurers' Guild and offers a clear view of the entire area. Also, it's a place where you can throw scrolls.
Stepping into the room, the layout was exactly the same as when I had stayed there before.
Opening the window, I saw that the guild entrance was surrounded by Fallen Ones, densely packed, numbering over a hundred. Each of them had purple eyes and was roaring as they rammed against the guild gate, which was already on the verge of collapse. From inside, I could vaguely hear the sounds of resistance and fearful screams from the surviving adventurers in the guild.
Without the slightest hesitation, Lin Qi pulled out a divine spell scroll from his pocket and threw it into the pile of fallen ones without saying a word.
With a power exceeding fifty points, the scroll fell like a meteor into the horde of fallen ones.
With a "bang," the scroll hit the ground and exploded instantly. A dazzling white light flashed, and a rich, holy aura spread out. The dozens of Fallen Ones surrounding the entrance let out a mournful roar, black smoke billowing from their bodies. They collapsed to the ground, convulsing, and soon fell silent.
Lynch didn't stop. He continued to grab the reels and throw them into the pile of Fallen Ones. With each reel he threw, a group of Fallen Ones fell to the ground, their mournful howls echoing through the air, which was filled with the smell of burning.
He moved quickly, throwing out reels one after another. In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, all the Fallen Ones at the guild entrance were cleared out, leaving a pile of Fallen One corpses on the ground, emitting plumes of black smoke.
Lina, who was in the guild, heard the commotion outside and knew it was Lin Qi's doing. She quickly led the surviving adventurers in the guild, opened the gate, and ran out.
There were a dozen or so surviving adventurers, all of them pale-faced and injured to varying degrees. Their eyes were filled with fear and exhaustion. When they saw Lin Qi waving to them from the second floor of the Temple of Fairness, their faces showed surprise and gratitude.
The group crossed the street and went directly into the Temple of Justice, locking the doors behind them.
Lynch went downstairs to meet them.
"Are you alright?"
Lina remained as dashing as ever, holding a short sword, her high chest rising and falling slightly, looking at Lin Qi with concern.
"I'm fine."
Lin Qi shook his head.
"Sister Lina, there are plenty of reels here. It's up to you whether you stay or leave."
"My teammates are waiting for me outside, and I'm worried about them."
Lina nodded slowly. The adventurers around her, still shaken, looked at Lin Qi with a mixture of gratitude and admiration in their eyes.
"Is this Mr. Fold's student? He's so young, but very talented."
Some people sighed.
"Thank you so much, Lynch! Without you, we probably wouldn't have survived!"
"Yes, thank you so much!"
The surviving adventurers thanked Lynch profusely, their voices filled with gratitude.
Lin Qi waved his hand: "Everyone, don't waste time. Hurry up and go to the warehouse to get the scrolls. It's not safe here. There might be more Fallen Ones coming."
I'll go first.
Lynch waved the scroll in his hand and bid farewell to the adventurers.
Lynch ran wildly towards the place he had agreed to meet with Cole and the others. The fog gradually dissipated, visibility increased, and the distant woods became clearly visible.
Suddenly, a deafening roar came from the sky.
In the direction Lynch was heading, a colossal flying creature suddenly appeared and slowly landed on the ground.
The hatch opened, and a line of armored knights emerged.
Each of them held a sacred longsword, their expressions solemn, and they exuded a strong aura of holiness, surrounding an imposing middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man, dressed in a silver-white priest's robe, had a holy emblem on his chest emitting a faint white light. He had sharp eyes and a powerful aura. He was none other than Beren, the first-tier peak Grand Priest of the Order Temple in Xiafeng City.
The six-pointed star on his chest shone brightly.
It was a group from the Temple of Order in Xiafeng City.
"what?"
High Priest Beren looked at the black-haired youth not far away and spoke with a soft voice.
He had a feeling that something was off about this young man, but he couldn't quite put his finger on it. His years as a priest had made him very cautious.
They appeared so suddenly; this was flat ground, with nowhere to hide.
[Hint: You have attracted the attention of a permanently hostile faction]
Grass!
Lin Qi cursed inwardly.
Beren's gaze fell on the divine magic scroll in Lynch's arms, and his face instantly darkened, his eyes filled with disgust.
"Bring this kid over here."
One of the temple warriors behind him understood and immediately stepped forward, shouting at Lin Qi in a stern tone, "You audacious thief! How dare you steal the temple's divine scrolls! Arrest him!"
As soon as he finished speaking, several temple warriors rushed forward, their holy swords pointed directly at Lin Qi, their eyes wary, wanting to subdue him.
Lynch turned and ran.
If he were to use his evil god abilities in front of hostile forces, there would be a risk of exposing his identity. Moreover, the other side had many people, including a seemingly unfathomable priest. He was no match for them. If he were captured, they could unleash a few divine spells on him and he would be finished.
However, his speed was no match for that of the warriors of the Temple of Order.
They were about to be caught up.
At this critical moment.
High Priest Beren suddenly frowned and looked toward the mist to the side, where three whistling sounds of bowstrings cutting through the air could be heard.
Whoosh whoosh.
Three silver arrows descended in an instant.
One fell in front of Lynch.
A weapon landed in front of the temple warriors behind him.
One of them landed at the feet of High Priest Beren.
The crowd was somewhat at a loss, all eyes fixed on the direction from which the arrow had come.
Beren lowered his head to examine the runes on the arrow, then called out loudly into the mist, "Which elven expert is it, and why are they interfering in the affairs of our human race?"
A clear, cold voice suddenly rang out, its tone icy and carrying an undeniable air of authority: "I am not an elf."
A slender figure emerged from the woods not far away.
Everyone stared intently as the other person was dressed in black leather armor, which accentuated his tall and agile figure. His long silver hair cascaded over his shoulders, his skin was fair, his features were exquisite, his pointed ears were slightly perked up, and his eyes were as sharp as an eagle's. He held a black longbow in his hand, and he exuded a powerful aura that made the many temple knights feel uneasy and dare not make a move.
She had a badge hanging around her neck, and when Lynch and Beren saw it, a look of surprise flashed in their eyes at the same time.
"Monster Investigation Team?"
Beren spoke up, echoing Lynch's sentiments.
"High-ranking investigator, are you, the half-elf Yata?"
Yata, a powerful half-elf, is a high-ranking lone investigator in the Duchy's Monster Survey Team.
She is extremely powerful and spends her years investigating monsters and unusual events in various places. It is said that her strength is about to break through to the first level. Even Beren may not be her match.
The half-elf female archer ignored Beren, her gaze fixed on Lynch. Her tone was calm, yet carried an undeniable authority: "He is the person I am looking for. I am taking him away."
Beren's expression changed.
However, he immediately smiled and said loudly, "Since it's what Lord Yata wants, we'll give it to you."
He glanced at Lin Qi briefly before looking away.
"Just a little kid with dirty hands and feet."
"Let's go to Silverleaf Town."
