Chapter 27 Firefly Diner
Chapter 27 Firefly Diner
One night passed.
Elor said she was going to the Mage Guild alone to get her official mage level certification, so Dorothy naturally didn't need to go with her.
When Dorothy heard the door close in the morning, she knew that Elor had gone out.
Dorothy had no intention of causing trouble.
She didn't get up after Elor left.
Of course, this doesn't mean Dorothy wants to continue sleeping in.
Instead, she discovered that she could practice meditation while lying down, and it was even more comfortable.
However, Dorothy got up not long after lying down.
I went into the living room and took a look.
The table was completely empty.
Dorothy frowned slightly.
"She left without eating? Won't that affect her performance evaluation?"
However, just a few days ago, every time Elor talked about being a novice mage, she was full of confidence, as if she had already been certified as a novice mage.
That shouldn't be a big problem.
After wandering around the living room, Dorothy found the kitchen.
Then she saw a few things that looked somewhat familiar.
"These are..."
Looking at the crooked and twisted patterns carved on the stove, and the well-sealed cabinet in the corner.
Although she herself did not know what the purpose of those patterns was, it was obvious that Dorothy knew their function.
"Refrigerator and induction cooker?"
Dorothy walked to the cabinet in the corner, placed her hand on the doorknob, and gently pulled it.
A wisp of white mist, carrying a chill, drifted out from the cabinet.
"That's really true..."
Dorothy's lips twitched.
Bending down to look into the freezer, I saw several glass jars and green vegetables inside.
Then Dorothy closed the freezer.
It wasn't that she didn't want to cook a delicious meal, but rather that she didn't know how to use anything in the kitchen.
So Dorothy went back to bed and lay down, waiting for Elor to return.
This wait.
It was a whole day.
……
squeak~
As the wooden door was pushed open, Elor skipped and hopped into the room.
A brand-new badge hung on her cloak, and she wore an excited smile.
"Little Dorothy, come out quickly~"
"From today onwards, I am a full-fledged magician!"
Dorothy, clutching her stomach, pushed open the bedroom door and walked out, looking at Elor, who was beaming with joy.
"Miss Elor, congratulations on becoming a magician! To celebrate this wonderful day, would you be so kind as to treat me to a delicious meal?"
In other words, Dorothy was used to hunger, and not eating for a day didn't make her too weak.
However, the feeling of being hungry is never pleasant.
While Elor was feeling happy, he suddenly remembered that he had left poor Dorothy at home for a whole day.
The little guy must be starving right now.
"Um... I'm sorry, I was so nervous during the assessment today that I couldn't think of anything else and accidentally forgot about it. You'll forgive me, right?"
Elor blinked her beautiful eyelashes, her tone softening.
"Of course, so what are we going to eat next?"
Dorothy rubbed her tummy and looked at Elor expectantly.
Elor walked up to Dorothy, raised his hand, and casually placed it on Dorothy's head.
"To celebrate becoming a novice mage, let's go out to eat today. I happened to hear about a newly opened restaurant during my assessment, we can try it out."
With that, Elor came up behind Dorothy, pushed her back, and headed towards the door.
Dorothy felt a little embarrassed as she was being pushed like that.
"Um, I'll just grab something to eat."
"No need to be so polite, consider this my compensation to you. Sigh, I had to make up for the fact that such a lovely Dorothy went hungry all day." Without saying another word, Elor opened the door, pulled Dorothy, and walked out.
Although Dorothy was physically strong, she could only let Elor lead her around at this point.
……
Streetlights stand on both sides of the smooth road in the shopping street.
Even at night, it's as bright as day here.
"This is it, Firefly Diner. It looks quite crowded."
Elor took Dorothy to the popular restaurant she had mentioned.
From the window, you can see that the room is full of people.
The two had just entered the room.
A young and handsome waiter walked over with a smile on his face.
"Do you two have an appointment?"
"No." Elor shook her head.
The waiter was about to say that the restaurant was full and that if there was no reservation, it would be a while before a table became available.
His gaze then fell on the badge on Elor's chest.
He swallowed all the words he had just said.
"Ladies, this way please. Let's go to the third floor to order. There's a balcony with a fantastic view there."
Elor nodded slightly. "Yes, lead the way."
The waiter led the two to the third floor, pulled out chairs, and invited them to sit down.
"Here's the menu." The waiter brought the menu over.
Elor glanced casually at the menu and asked Dorothy, "What do you like to eat? Order whatever you like."
Dorothy looked at the menu in her hand; it was all text, without a single picture.
"I don't know much about this, you do it."
Elor nodded.
"Rococo roasted mushrooms, Siri lamb chops, and two bowls of corn chowder, remember to use spices."
After ordering, Elor returned the menu to the waiter.
"Okay, please wait a moment." The waiter took the menu and left.
Dorothy looked out the window at the scenery.
Elsewhere, it would be bedtime by this time, but the streets of the Apprentice City were still full of pedestrians.
The entire third floor of this restaurant is furnished with private rooms.
It is clearly designed specifically for magicians like Elor.
Actually, when Elor ordered the food, Dorothy noticed the prices of those dishes.
I thought the City of Apprentices would be very expensive, but it's not.
Roasted mushrooms cost ten copper coins, lamb chops cost three silver coins, and corn soup cost five copper coins.
The prices might be a bit high outside, but this is an apprenticeship city, so they're reasonable.
However, if spices are used, the price will go up to three gold coins or more.
Dorothy then asked with some concern, "Won't using spices make it too expensive?"
Elor shook his finger.
"Don't worry, the City of Apprentices has its own greenhouses where spices are grown on a large scale. Spices are cheap here, but they are mainly supplied to mages and nobles."
"Hehehe, little Dorothy, you've really been eating good food with your sister."
Elor shook his fingers, a hint of smugness on his face.
Dorothy was also very considerate of the other party.
He immediately cupped his hands to his chest, revealing an expression of adoration.
"Wow! Thank you so much, Sister Elor!"
"Hehehe..."
Elor laughed somewhat embarrassedly.
She knew, of course, that Dorothy, given her personality, was definitely playing along with her.
But this feeling of being worshipped still made Elor feel a surge of excitement.
"Eat more, and if it's not enough, we'll order more."
"Okay, sure."
Soon, the waiter brought the food over.
Dorothy inhaled the aroma wafting from the food, a look of pure bliss on her face.
This is food that has been seasoned with spices!
Even with his current net worth, he couldn't bear to spend the money on a single meal.
Dorothy couldn't wait to cut a piece of meat from the lamb chop and put it in her mouth.
"Hmm!"
