Chapter 486: Choices & Options.

The young man took a deep breath and looked at the people sitting in their offices, he looked at them with a straight face and asked, "What the fuck is wrong with you lot to be working at this hour?"The three people sat up straight and they looked at him and Cherry asked, "Leo is everything okay?"

Leo replied calmly, "Can you people act like normal humans now? I have told you all to not work overtime, and if you are working that means the juniors are also working right? Have you decided that to chase money and efficiency you would ruin the name of the company that we have built after such effort?"

His tone caused the people to realize that they were becoming more like the rest of the companies, rushing towards success and trying to compensate for rest with overtime bonus. Percie sighed and said, "It is my fault, I will adjust this first thing in the morning."

Leo shook his head and replied, "You will fix it right now. Tell them all to save the progress and get out of the office right now and from now on overtime is prohibited. If they are logged in after work hours, dock their salaries, and the same applies for you guys."

Percie gulped she realized that Leo was not joking and he was going to punish them all. She only nodded, and Leo asked, "What have we done to make our technology more affordable by the people who are struggling?"

This was the make question that needed an answer, Percie asked, "The pricing is already low, and the reason we are operating at high level is because of the anti-monopoly policies."

Leo asked, "If we use the excessive money that we earn to fund policies and EMI schemes so that more people could afford the technology, would that be a violation of the anti-monopoly?"

Cherry replied, "Yes, if it becomes a long-term thing then yes, it would be a violation and we might have to face a law suit."

Leo thought and said, "Then how about we open the tenders for licensing the tech to others and have them follow the same standard as ours in terms of quality and quantity. Have them sale it at a lower price so that everyone can afford it."

Cherry nodded after some thought and said, "Yes, that would take the load off our production facilities as well. We can move on to research and develop the other products."

Leo nodded and after a few minute Percie asked, "What caused you to come up with this?"

The young man calmly replied, "It is because I have seen the people out there who are suffering because they don’t have enough money to afford the tech we designed for them. If that continued this would not be good in the long run."

At this moment, the director of the Technology research and development spoke up, "The new probe designs that you sent, what is going on with them boss? It is rather stronger."

Leo nodded and after deep breath he said, "Whatever I am about to tell you is not supposed to go out of your mouth until we have concrete data to correspond with this situation."

Keval and the rest of the people raised their eyes, and the young man said, "In the previous exploration they found something that looked like debris from a space ship. This is why we needed higher level probes that could land on that meteor and test if the debris was really what we are suspecting it to be."

The three of them were shocked and Leo replied, "We don’t need talk about this at the moment, this line is not secure. If you want to discuss this in detail I will come over to the city on the weekend, you can come home."

The people nodded, and Leo said, "It is prohibited for you to even look this thing on the internet because it is not there, I issued the gag order."

Keval sighed and said, "Boss, I am going out of the office, and getting drunk. I am taking a day off."

Leo gave him a thumbs up and said, "Percie, I want to receive the message that the office has been closed and the people have gone home within half an hour. Also, the memo for the prohibition must be issued quickly too."

Percie nodded and that was it, the meeting ended, then Leo stood up from his table and stretched his body to crackle his bones and walked into the twin’s room. Alpha was still standing beside the kids, and as the young man walked inside the room, Alpha turned to look at him, and Leo said, "Go on Alpha, your battery must be low, right?"

Alpha nodded and said, "Thank you for relieving me, Sir."

Then the robot walked out of the room, and Leo looked at the babies closely, it was as if they were able to sense his gaze, and they woke up. Elena and Julian both opened their eyes wide, and looked at him for a few minutes, before they asked, "Where have you been?"

Leo smiled and said, "You two are in sync. Well, I have been busy so I thought I would come over and sleep with you two tonight."

Elena replied, "Baba, you cannot fit in the cradle."

Leo chuckled lightly and then he reached out to pick the two of them in his arms and lay down on the bed on the side. The two little dumplings sprawled over him and then Leo said, "Don’t tell your Ma about it."

After a few minutes, the trio fell asleep and the next morning, one of the biggest news broke the national news channels, Cardinal Group had opened up the doors for the tenders of cooperation, although the rest of the information was not given out, many people were happy with this as small operations were being prioritized.

Leo had intended to do just that, because this was indeed the situation, only small businesses would be able to work together and put out the product in the market for a decent price.

The young man stood up from the bed with the feet of his youngest pressed on his cheek and Julian gnawing at the end of his sleeve. The young man took a deep breath and sighed, "All three of them are the same."

He stood up from the bed, and then he headed to the small gym in the house, and found that Lily was already there, and she was sparring with Zeenat, and her speed was very fast. The two of them were going at it and the gym was echoing with the mitts and gloves hitting each other.

Just then Leo sensed someone approach him, and turned around. He found Melvin was standing behind him and the man said, "Sir, Jamal had come for the shift handover."

Leo nodded and said, "Let’s go, I will have a team building activity for them today."

Lily saw this and said, "Baba, go easy on them."

Leo chuckled and replied, "Okay, love."

They came out in the lawn where Leo found Jamal dressed up in a sharp suit. The latter looked at Leo, the man was wearing a lose t-shirt and a pajama with a pair of flip flops on his feet, but the aura was that of a boss walking over to kill.

Jamal frowned and as soon as Leo walked up to him, the later said, "Jamal, I have a few questions for you, and if you come clean you can keep working here, but if you cannot, then I would need to make a call to the higher ups to have you reposted."

Jamal was shocked, and he turned to glare at Melvin, but Leo said, "Don’t look at him, I have my own sources and intelligence to find out things. Your records might have been clean but they don’t stand in accordance to what your behavior is like."

Jamal froze and Leo looked him right in the eye and said, "The second option that you have is to go through a trial. I know that you like to handle things yourself and that you pride in following the rules. However, when I stated that my team would be taking charge of the security and you would be assisting them you denied that and disrespected my team as well.

So, I don’t care who your uncle was, your grandpa was, I want you to make a choice, either you answer everything or you fight the men that you disrespected. If you win the fight, you will stay the head of security, if you lose, you would need to apologize to the boys. What do you think, simple enough?"

Leo had not given him a choice, but it was an option that he had to choose regardless of what he felt or he could kiss his job goodbye.
